Prof. Helen Youth was selected to receive the Exemplary Leader Award by the Chair Academy

Prof. Ann Sallie earned a C.A.S.E. degree in Educational Technology from from Loyola

Prof. Deborah Solomon presented at the VGXPO video game conference and wrote a book chapter on the Supreme Court's legal treatment of video games.

Prof. Gail South will appear in the 2004 edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers

Winter & Spring registration

- Spring 2009 Schedule is now available online.
- Spring 2009 Web Registration has begun!
- Spring 2009 In-Person Registration begins December 15, 2008.
- Most Spring classes begin during the week of January 26, 2009.

Don't get Dropped!:
Sign up early and pay your bill on time
to make sure you reserve your spot in class.
(If you sign up but don't pay, you will get dropped).
Also, don't wait til the last minute!
Classes with low enrollment can get cancelled early.

The CA Department offers classes in:

ABOUT THE CA DEPARTMENT @ MC:

Welcome to the Computer Applications Department Web Site for the Rockville, Germantown, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring campuses! We are glad you are here!

On this site, you will find information about the College's Computer Applications curriculum as well as the faculty, staff and facilities of the Germantown, Rockville and Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campuses.

The CA department teaches the following topics:

  • IT and computer concepts and techniques with emphasis on computer applications (interdisciplinary A.A.S. degrees and certificates)
  • Web development (interdisciplinary A.A.S. degrees and certificates)
  • Game and Simulation Development (interdisciplinary A.A. degrees and certificate)
  • Database development (interdisciplinary certificate)

The Computer Applications Department encourages and supports student success through enhancing technical and communications skills by providing quality instruction. We focus on conceptual understanding of transferable knowledge in addition to acquiring technical skills.
