Course Description

Development of touch keyboarding skills. Covers the touch operation of alphabetic, numeric, and symbol keys with emphasis on development of a basic, usable skill. No production of documents is included. This course is recommended for all students. 1 semester hour.

Goals and/or Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to

• Development and enhancement of non-technical skills
  • Speak and write about the course topics with sufficient proficiency
  • Apply critical thinking to a variety of topics in the course
• Keyboarding basics
  • Input alphanumeric and symbol information by touch typing
  • Keyboard information at a rate of 25 gross words per minute with a two-error per minute maximum
