What is Excel & How can I learn more?

Excel is a spreadsheet application that is part of the Microsoft Office software suite.

You could use Excel to:

  • plan your personal budget,
  • list expenses for a party,
  • calculate the interest and monthly payments on a loan,
  • track stock prices,
  • calculate your GPA,
  • and perform many more useful tasks
Many businesses rely on Excel's powerful features to track income and expenses and analyze product sales, so knowledge of Excel is a valuable business skill.

And, of course, you can use Excel to create charts like the ones above (and many more types of charts - pie charts, bar charts, column charts, line charts, even topographical charts and radar charts!)

CA classes that currently cover Excel include: CA120, CA151 & CA252
