IT Service Center - Germantown:

The Germantown Service Center is located in room 201 HS. The Service Center is open Monday through Friday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Hardware available in the Service Center includes:

  • 4 Dell computers
  • 1 Mac Pro

Podcasting hardware is available on two PC's.

A variety of software is available on the four Service Center computer stations. Standard software includes:

The Smart Instructor’s setup includes many audio-visual and computer components designed to support a variety of technology related instructional methods. The Service Center has a ceiling mounted data projector that receives A-V and computer images from the station and projects them onto a large screen in the front of the room. Wall mounted speakers provide sound from all SIWS sources. A visual presenter (document camera) allows the user to project objects, documents, books, single 35mm slides or transparencies. A VHS VCR is connected to the presenter so that videos can also be projected. The computer components include an LCD monitor and a built-in CPU. The computer has a DVD/CD ROM drive, a ZIP drive and a standard 3/4” disk drive. A second computer input is provided for the connection of a laptop computer to the SIWS. There is a remote control provided to switch between data projector inputs.

Technical support during open hours will be provided by IT Associates and the MR staff. Additional support will be by appointment only and must be arranged by contacting Terry Denney at X 7863.
