Instructional Hardware and Software Requests:
The bottom line is contact InTechRV before proceeding with any instructional IT plan or request: Paul Halpine, at 75153 or paul.halpine@montgomerycollege.edu We can help with the latest information, and assist with planning and analysis, forms, processes, approvals, etc.
The place to get requests if at all possible is into your area’s strategic plan (these are then rolled up into the College-wide and included for requested funding in the Information Technology Strategic Plan). If you need assistance with your department or area’s academic planning in relation to IT matters, please contact your Campus IT Manager, Paul Halpine, at 75153 or paul.halpine@montgomerycollege.edu .
All requests must meet College standards and processes. Among the documents describing these are the College Acceptable Use Policy: http://www.montgomerycollege.org/verified/pnp/66001.doc and the OIT Reference Guide for Requesting Technology Equipment: http://www.mcinfonet.org/it/asset/forms/7-1-05Guide.doc .
For issues that are not funded in the current Information Technology Strategic Plan (see http://www.mcinfonet.org/bpweb/sps/ITSP.pdf ), purchase of the software or hardware must be done either with your department, area, or campus funds, grant funds or through Instructional Advisory Group (IAG) funds. (IAG funds are only for emergency requests only; see http://www.mcinfonet.org/it/intech/iag.html for information on IAG.)
Instructional Technology Rockville (InTechRV) is here to help you with these processes as well. The normal process is this:
Approved and funded projects are added to the existing list of InTech-R projects and prioritized by the campus academic administration. That priority, as tempered by scheduling and logistical issues, staffing considerations, etc., determines the order in which projects get done. |
