This directory is intended to be a window on cultural diverse internet resources. Listing of a web site does not imply endorsement by the College or by the compiler of this directory. New sites are added, sites are removed, and current lists are checked on a regular basis.


Associations and Organizations

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN (AAUW) - http://www.aauw.org
Promotes equal education for women, girls, and professional educators. They have links to other related sites, including several that contain job postings, databases, and other career-related resources.

ASIAN ASSOCIATION OF SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY (AASP) - http://www.asiansocialpsych.org
Promotes the development of social psychological research and its application in Asia-Pacific, provides opportunities for students to pursue education and careers in social psychology, and serves as an academic forum for social psychologists in Asia-Pacific.

ASSOCIATION FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE (AWIS) - http://www.awis.org
Provides resources necessary to support women in science through publications, job listings, advertisements and mentoring programs. They have non-AWIS resources available such as MentorNet and non-AWIS resource listings.

CENTER FOR MULTILINGUAL, MULTICULTURAL RESEARCH - http://www.usc.edu/dept/education/CMMR/home.html
University of Southern California - an organized research unit at the University of Southern California, facilitating the research collaboration, dissemination and professional development activities of faculty, students, and others across School of Education, university and outside organizational lines. The Center provides a base for those interested in multilingual education, English as a second language, foreign language instruction, multicultural education and related areas, and the opportunity to come together for research and program collaboration.

COMMITTEE ON INSTITUTIONAL COOPERATION (CIC) - http://www.cic.uiuc.edu
The Committee on Institutional Cooperation, established in 1958, is the academic consortium of twelve major teaching and research universities in the Midwest. Its programs and activities extend to all aspects of university activity except intercollegiate athletics. The CIC headquarters office is located at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the office is supported through member university dues.

A comprehensive index of multicultural and diversity resources. This database contains campus, local, national, and international academic material relating to the following areas of diversity as defined by the Office of Human Relations Programs at the University of Maryland: age, class, disability, ethnicity, gender, national origin, race, religion and sexual orientation.

HISPANIC ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES (HACU) - http://www.hacu.net
HACU represents more than 300 colleges and institutions committed to Hispanic higher education success in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America and Spain. HACU is the only national educational association that represents Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs).

MULTICULTURAL PAVILION - http://www.edchange.org/multicultural
Provides resources for educators, students, and activists to explore and discuss multicultural education; facilitate opportunities for educators to work toward self-awareness and development; and provide forums for educators to interact and collaborate toward a critical, transformative approach to multicultural education.

NATIONAL ACTION COUNCIL FOR MINORITIES IN ENGINEERING (NACME) - http://www.nacme.org
NACME provides leadership and support for the national effort to increase the representation of successful African American, American Indian and Latino women and men in engineering and technology, math- and science-based careers.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION (NAFEO) - http://www.nafeo.org
An association of Black colleges and universities whose chief objective is the implement programs and policies which affect minority student enrollment to ensure an increase of Black students in historically Black college and university establishments.

NATIONAL BLACK MBA ASSOCIATION (NBMBAA) - http://www.nbmbaa.org/
Dedicated to creating partnerships that result in creating intellectual and economic wealth in the black community. The association has inroads into a wide range of industries as well as the public and private sector.

NATIONAL TECHNICAL ASSOCIATION (NTA) - http://www.ntaonline.org
Encourages minority youth and women to choose careers in science and technology; creates access and opportunity to science/technology careers through academic preparation and awareness; builds networks for practitioners and educators in fields of science and technology; and recognizes, honors, and preserves the legacy of minority pioneers in technological fields.

NATIONAL URBAN LEAGUE - http://www.nul.org a community-based movement empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. The website offers information about programs, conferences, special events, and publications. There is a career center where jobs may be posted and viewed.

SOCIETY FOR ADVANCEMENT OF CHICANO AND NATIVE AMERICANS IN SCIENCE (SACNAS) - http://www.sacnas.org
Membership composed of science professors, industry scientists, K-12 educators, and students. SACNAS is a diverse society with a vested interest in promoting opportunities in graduate science education for Chicano/Latino, Native American, and other underrepresented minority students. Provides links for career advancement, online internship resources, job mentoring and placement, and other programs that encourage minority students to excel in science and advance in their profession and in academia.

THE ASSOCIATION OF BLACK PSYCHOLOGISTS - http://www.abpsi.org/
Actively addresses the serious problems facing Black Psychologists and the Black community. Their goal is to have a positive impact upon the mental health of the national Black community by means of planning, programs, services, training, and advocacy.

WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY INTERNATIONAL (WITI) - http://www.witi.org
Provides women in technology inspiration, education, conferences, on-line services, publications and an exceptional worldwide network of resources. Solely dedicated to advancing women through technology. WITI's constituency has expanded from women in technology to women who consider technology central to their businesses, careers and professions.
