IS Curriculum
The International Studies curriculum is broken into two basic sections: the
General Education requirements required for all Montgomery College graduates
(foundations and distribution) and the Concentration requirements that are
specific to this major (foreign language, international politics, electives).

Two semesters of the same foreign language are required, although students may
substitute additional foreign language courses for selected electives
requirements below. To meet this requirement, students may enroll in
French, German, Italian, Russian, or Spanish courses. Advanced study of
language and literature, as well as the opportunity to pursue honors-level work
are available in French and Spanish.
