Internships

Students are encouraged to participate in an internship during their course of study. Internships allow students to apply their classroom knowledge to the real world of politics. They also earn valuable work experience. The political science department can help you find an internship; we maintain a list of possible internship opportunities.
Although most internships are unpaid, students may get college credit for an internship by enrolling in PS 260 and completing academic work that complements their internship activities. Please see the Political Science coordinator or department chair for approval.
Montgomery College has a general internships page with excellent advice and links to many resources.
Commencing in the Summer of 2006, a new course, "Politics in Action" (PS 26) will be offered
which combines an academic seminar and interships that complement classroom studies. Details
can be found on this page and an application form can be
found on this page.
