Writing in the Disciplines seeks to strengthen student writing skills and to help faculty incorporate writing into their courses. To learn more, participate in our online forum, offered with the support of the Center for Teaching and Learning.

The WID Online Faculty Forum:
Professional Development for All Faculty Members at Any Time

Writing in the Disciplines is pleased to invite faculty to participate in a series of online discussions on MyMC this semester. This is by far the easiest way to join your colleagues in exploring meaningful ways of integrating writing into your courses, creating new assignments, and determining how to evaluate written assignments.

Does grading student writing leave you feeling as if your head is stuffed with straw, your heart is made of tin, and your courage has failed? Don’t despair! Instead, join us for the Fall 09 Online Forum, “Writing, Rubrics, and Grades, Oh My! How Writing in the Disciplines Can Help." The forum will feature discussions of our current teaching practices, problem-solving, solution-sharing, and resource exchanges related to evaluating students. Read what your colleagues have to say, share what you know, and be prepared to learn even more! New discussion threads will begin about every two weeks during the fall semester.

This forum is open to full-time and part-time faculty and earns participants professional development credit.
