The Biology Club at Montgomery College has been involved in learning about new developments in the biological sciences and participating in community projects. The Biology Club had the opportunity to hear lectures from many distinguished speakers. Some of the topics included the diversity of the Chesapeake Bay, Howard's School of Pharmacy and Summer Internship Programs. (List of speakers)

The Biology Club also had the opportunity to visit the USDA Beltsville facility. Upon arrival, we explored the National Visitors Center and a representative explained the functions of the USDA. We visited the Parasitology Department. Next, we toured the facility and had first hand experience with cloned animals. We visited the sewage treatment plant and our tour guide explained the complexities of the plant.

This year we decided to redesign the club's web site. I would like to thank Dr. E.J. for her leadership and guidance throughout the year. I would like to thank the club officers and students for contributing their time to the biology club, attending meetings and participating in club activities.

I encourage students to join the biology club.
Joining the biology club is a great learning experience. It will help you prepare for the future and give you exposure to different areas in the sciences.

Sincerely,

José L. Albarracin
