High School Advanced Eligibility
Program
The Collegewide Cooperative Education and Internships Office
announces a new program for Montgomery County high school
students participating in Cooperative Work Experience (CWE)
programs.
CWE students entering Montgomery College may
be granted advanced eligibility for the CO-OP program if they
use their high school work assignment as the Montgomery College
CO-OP job. This will allow former CWE students to participate
in college CO-OP without having to wait a semester before
being eligible.
To be eligible, students must:

Obtain an excellent letter of recommendation
from the high school Cooperative Work Experience teacher
and their employer

Submit a completed CO-OP application packet
to the Montgomery College CO-OP office

Keep the high school Cooperative Work
Experience job during their first semester in Montgomery
College CO-OP
Benefits to students:

Earn three to six college credits through
CO-OP

CO-OP courses require minimal class time
and maximum time on-the-job

Register for nine credits plus CO-OP and
Obtain full-time status

Earn college credit while keeping your
same work schedule

Gain new resume writing and interviewing
skills
