CTL announces the 2005-2006 Academic Year (fall and spring semesters) CTL Fellowships for full-time faculty.  The theme will be

Learning-Centered Teaching

The culture of higher education is changing to focus on Learning-Centered Teaching. If you are interested in a professional development opportunity that spans two semesters and involves delving into the literature and making course modifications that support learning, consider applying for the CTL fellowship.  Some examples of appropriate outcomes:

Refocusing learning activities within a course

Restructuring a unit or an entire course to apply new principles learned;

Creating instructional materials/technologies that promote more student involvement;

Initiating action research within a course to “test” the revamped instructional strategies

Faculty members whose proposals are accepted will be awarded 1.5 ESH for each semester of the 2005-2006 school year to learn more about the topic and to work on their projects in collaboration with faculty colleagues and CTL staff.  CTL fellows are required to attend a two-hour seminar every third week.   Faculty fellows must also share their efforts with the MC community after the completion of the fellowship in both written and presentation formats.

Applications are due Friday, March 4, 2005
