Faculty and Staff
Montgomery College’s Department of English, Composition, Literature and Professional Writing at the Rockville campus is home to a diverse and active faculty. This knowledgeable and talented department teaches many areas and levels of English, composition, literature, and professional writing.

Our courses are designed to help students develop their critical thinking skills, advance their reading and writing abilities, and strengthen their verbal and written communication skills in college, career and life. In addition, students can improve their grammatical or

language skills. MC students may register for EN 105 (Principles of English Grammar) and EN 107 (College Vocabulary Development). For more information, click here or click here to view the College Catalog’s course descriptions.

Outside the classroom, the English Department also provides multiple opportunities for student involvement. Students can share their unique voices by contributing to The Red Jacket (a student creative writing journal), The Potomac Review (a professional, literary journal), and The Advocate (the campus student newspaper). Plus, we reward excellent student writers and offer exciting events for students to participate in, listed on our Literature Events page.
