The Reading Program offers College Reading I (RD 095) and College Reading II (RD 099). Students who place into these Non-Credit Reading courses are strongly encouraged to complete these first, but may enroll in courses for which they meet assessment levels or prerequisites. Reading and Study in College Content Areas (RD 120) is an advanced credit bearing course that emphasizes reading and studying strategies with academic subject area texts. |

All reading courses focus on specific college reading skills, study and testing strategies which enable students to read academic text efficiently, independently and effectively. RD099 and RD120 integrate critical literacy, logical reasoning and the application of concepts from reading to testing. In addition to instruction, there are a variety of library, computer lab and online resources which offer an opportunity to review and apply the reading skills introduced in class. |
