Computer Publishing and Printing Management provides
students with an understanding and hands-on working knowledge of the
printing
industry, which include the processes necessary for efficient production
and precise quality printing. Students will become proficient with all
current software used in the creation of electronic pages for output
to printing presses as well as websites. Software such as Adobe Photoshop,
Illustrator and InDesign will be used to integrate type, art, digital
illustrations and color images into electronic page format on Macintosh
microcomputers. Instruction is given in image manipulation, color correction
and color theory. Students can also learn offset press operation as
well
as binding and finishing operations on automatic folders and power paper
cutter. Other software for web publishing will be taught such as Macromedia
Director, Dreamweaver and Flash for the creation of digital images with
animation for the World Wide Web.
In addition, the Computer Publishing
and Printing Management Department responds to business needs by providing
