Professional Background

Hello!  This is Prof. de Jesus.   Welcome to my web page.  I am the Clinical Coordinator of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program of Montgomery College at the Health Science Center in the Takoma Park Campus.  This year, I am working with about forty first and second year students, about thirty some clinical sites with one or more Clinical Instructors, and three part time Clinical Faculty members.  Together we set up the syllabi that will help map out the clinical component in the study of sonography. 

I have an undergraduate degree in Physics, completed my graduate studies in Statistics, worked as a government scientist, taught Physics part time in a private college for girls, worked as market research Tabulation Coordinator for a private firm (when the top-of-the-line computer we used was the huge IBM 1130), and taught Algebra and Statistics at a private university.  I got interested in sonography when someone described briefly how high frequency sound produced the image she was getting as she was doing a pelvic study on me.  So I studied ultrasound and in 1996 joined the DMS Alumni.
