The Following is Frequently Asked
Questions About Montgomery College Tuition.
What are the
tuition rates and fees at Montgomery College?
Montgomery College has different
tuition rates depending on your residency classification:
Montgomery County residents, Maryland state residents, and
out-of-state residents. Montgomery County resident tuition
rates are based on the current Credit and Fee Schedule for
the Academic Year and are subject to change by action of the
Board of Trustees. Montgomery County residents pay the
lowest rate, while Maryland residents usually pay double
that per credit, with the exception of those students
enrolled in one of the Maryland Healthcare Manpower Shortage
Programs,
and out-of-state residents pay
three times that amount per credit. There are applicable
student fees as well. Current tuition rates can be obtained
online through at the
Montgomery College’s Homepage.

listed you will be able to request the in-county tuition
rate by completing the
Maryland Healthcare Manpower Shortage Form. Please check

I
heard some students are eligible for waivers or discounts.
How do I find out if I qualify?
There are a number of students who may
be eligible for full or partial tuition waivers at
Montgomery College.
For example, did you know that
if you are a Maryland resident age 60 or older at the time
of registration you can enjoy a full tuition waiver? (Note
that the waiver is not available during regular
registration, so you’ll have to check the Schedule of
Classes for when the waiver goes into effect).
Also disabled retirees also have
their tuition waived, but they too still have to pay all the
required student fees. This waiver is given on a
space-available basis, and eligible students must submit a
Disability Retirement Tuition Waiver
Certification form.
Members of the Maryland National
Guard for a minimum 24-month enlistment are eligible for a
50-percent tuition waiver. National Guard members can
register during regular registration. For the most up to
date information on eligibility requirements for tuition
waivers, please go to
Montgomery College College’s website.

Are
Students
enrolled in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
eligible for tuition assistance through the Maryland
Healthcare Manpower Shortage Program?
The State of Maryland has a shortage of
professionals in certain healthcare fields. Students
majoring in these designated fields, who are Maryland
residents and live outside Montgomery County are eligible
for in-county tuition. Eligible students must submit a
Statewide & Manpower Shortage Enrollment Verification form
(http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/admissions/StudentForms/state.pdf)
each semester they take courses while
enrolled in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
In-county tuition is offered to
out of county Maryland residents while funds are available
through the Statewide & Manpower Shortage Programs.

Who
is eligible for refunds?
The effective date for withdrawal will
be the date a student successfully drops the class online or
the date that notification of withdrawal is filed in the
Office of Admissions and Records. The refund deadline for
each course is listed on the invoice/schedule that a student

also listed in

How
can I apply for financial aid (or student loan)?
Every student deserves help in
financial situations, especially when it is related to
higher education. In case of monetary needs, Office of
Financial Aid at Montgomery Collage is honored to help
students at all times. The priority deadlines to submit
applications are May 15th
for the fall semester and November 1st
for the spring semester. Late applications will be accepted
and reviewed in date order of your Montgomery College file
completion. Your Montgomery College file is complete on the
date they record the acceptance of all Montgomery College
required documents in the computer system. Award letters are
based on full time attendance. Some aid programs require
full time study (12 bill hours). If you expect financial aid
for school expenses and you withdraw, drop your classes or
stop attending, you may lose your aid eligibility but still
owe a bill. For more information and to download the
application. http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/finaid
