  • A social supper at Amada Amante
  • A weekend-long workshop on "Catering Confidentials," taught by caterers and authors Nicole Aloni and Denise Vivaldo
  • The dedication of the Marriott Hospitality Center
  • A lecture and booksigning with Ci Ci Williamson, author of “The Best of Virginia Farms Cookbook and Tour Book: Recipes, People, Places"
  • A field trip to the International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show in New York City with students from Montgomery College, Northern Virginia Community College and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore at Shady Grove
  • A "Holiday Entertaining" cooking class by chefs Carla Hall and Janis McLean
  • Two pre-exam Study Hall events (Fall 2003 and Spring 2004), featuring tutors and healthy snacks
  • Two Advising Open House events (Fall 2003 and Spring 2004), providing advice and guidance for students registering for the upcoming semester
  • A networking reception for Catering class students at the Summerfield Suites by Wyndham in Gaithersburg, Maryland
  • A Veggy Art class for students from the Catering class, taught by chef James Parker
  • A behind-the-scenes tour of the Washington DC Convention Center
  • A social dinner at Positano, an Italian restaurant in Bethesda, Maryland
  • A lecture and guided tasting titled "How to Create a Cheese Course" by cheesemonger and food writer Carole Palmer
  • "Diabetes University," a half-day conference for patients and caregivers
  • TheatreCafe featuring the movie "Butterfly" and Spanish tapas from by Jaleo restaurant
  • A dinner of international dishes, produced by students from the Catering class
  • A class on "How to Make Your Own Fresh Pasta" by chefs Carla Hall and Janis McLean
