9th week: Chpts 43, 44, 45, 46, 47. Essay Question: What role did each of the following nations play in the Suez Crisis of 1956: Britain, France, Israel, US, USSR. Which of them improved their international position as a consequence of the crisis:

10th week: Chpts. 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63. Essay Question: John F. Kennedy faced two major foreign policy crises in the early 1960s; one in Cuba, the other in Vietnam. What were these crises and how did Kennedy respond.

11th week: Exam: Chpts. 64, 65, 66, 67, 68. "Two Faces of Asia" is the title given to this portion of the text. One of the faces reflects a developing, peaceful and prosperous visage. The other face reflects turmoil and destruction. In what countries and in what ways is this turmoil and destruction reflected?
