Welcome to the history section of the History and Political Science Department at Montgomery College, Rockville campus.  We offer history courses covering a variety of topics, such as American, European, Asian, Latin-American and African History.

About these pictures
Over 5,000 children and students from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, FYR Macedonia, and Romania took part in art and essay contests on their vision of the future for themselves, their city, their country, and region.  Ultimately, a selection of paintings was displayed in an exhibition entitled "Children Look to the Horizon," which was shown at World Bank Headquarters from April 19-30, 1999.  The images on this web site are a sampling of their works.  You can see a broader selection of the paintings at the World Bank's Virtual Gallery.
