Enrollment by Curriculum

Four-in-ten students (44%) are enrolled in a program of study designed to prepare students for transfer to baccalaureate programs.  Eighteen percent of the students are enrolled in “technical” or “career” programs designed primarily to prepare students for immediate entry into occupations; however, students in these programs often do transfer to four-year institutions from these programs.  This fall, 38 percent of the students were “undecided” about a program of study, have not indicated the program of study they are pursuing, or are not pursuing a degree or certificate.  This is a five percentage point drop from the proportion of last fall’s students who had not selected a major.

The proportion of students in Transfer programs had declined the past three fall semesters, but increased this fall.  The proportion of Technical program students also increased in fall 2004.

Individual degree programs showing the largest growth rates were: Biotechnology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, General Studies, Mental Health, Sciences, Teacher Education, and Web Careers.  Certificate programs that grew the most included: Accounting, Automotive Technology, Building Trades, Communication & Broadcasting Technology, Computer Services-Software Developer, Construction Management, Early Childhood Education, Management, and Web Careers.
