Ten Steps to College Reading Skills

·        This program provides exercises to test your reading comprehension and understanding of basic RD concepts such as main idea, major details, minor details, and others.

It has no explanations. If you don't get the results you want, talk to a human!

 

To Use:

 

·        Go to the Welcome screen:

·        Click on: Reading button

 

·   Click on  .

N.B.: There is another "Tensteps Vocabulary" button. This leads to supplemental vocabulary exercises, with no material for main idea or supporting detail.

·    Type your first name. Type your CRN number as section number.

·    Each time you start this program, you must type your name and number in exactly the same way. If you change a single letter, the program will silently create a new record for the new, "different" student.

Tensteps sign-in

·    If you have completed a test, you will see a check Check.

·    If you have begun but not completed a test, you will see a "blot": blot

·    Each time you return to the program, you should see a record of your past work. If you do not, talk to a human!

  • At the end of each exercise,

  • Write down your score on your score sheet.

  • When you’re done for the day, bring the score sheet by one of the staff tutors and we’ll initial it for you. This gives us the chance to offer to help if you had any difficulty, and confirms to your teacher that you were in the room.
