Entrepreneurship Expos -
Macklin Center for Entrepreneurship sponsors this annual
event to provide students interested in business management
or entrepreneurship an opportunity to learn about the
experience of starting up and successfully running a
business.
BioEntrepreneur
Forum* -
In its ongoing
effort to reach out to entrepreneurs in a myriad of
fields, the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship and
the Macklin Center for Entrepreneurship hosts the
annual BioEntrepreneur Forum targeting entrepreneurs
pursuing business in the biotechnology field. In this
half-day seminar, the forum focuses on two main topics
of interest:
1. Resources for
funding new business pursuits in biotech businesses
including partnerships, federal, state, and private equity
resources.
2. Business
strategies for today’s biotech companies including topics
such as company protection, human resource, and advisory
board and BOD issues.
The seminar is
followed by an interactive and dynamic luncheon panel
discussion regarding issues pertaining to start-ups and
business in biotechnology led by recognized leaders in the
entrepreneurial biotechnology community.
Technology Innovation: Concept to Reality
-
Co-hosted by the Macklin Center for Entrepreneurship,
Montgomery College and the Dingman Center for
Entrepreneurship, Robert H. Smith School of Business.
This Program provided researchers,
inventors, management candidates and early-stage
entrepreneurs with a thorough understanding of the
technology commercialization and business development
process. It provided participants with an understanding of the
process of creating commercial value around
technology innovations, and experiential learning
about various aspects of technology entrepreneurship.
It was held at the Montgomery College, Germantown
Campus.
Policy
Issues Facing New Enterprise in this Decade
* - The National Commission on Entrepreneurship
(NCOE) was created to focus public policy on the
role of entrepreneurship in the national economy
and to articulate policies that will foster its
continued growth. It is a resource for anyone interested
in entrepreneurship and public policy. Made up of
successful entrepreneurs, this Commission will provide
policy makers with practical recommendations on
how they can foster entrepreneurship well into the
21st century. Its work is original research and
consultation with other successful entrepreneurs
nationwide. The Commission is funded by the Kauffman
Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at the Ewing
Marion Kauffman Foundation.
