About
the Macklin Business Institute
The
Gordon and Marilyn Macklin Business Institute (MBI)
at Montgomery College is a distinctive honors program
that provides a wide range of innovative, high quality
business education opportunities. MBI is open to
all students at Montgomery College who meet the
requirements. Now in its fourth academic year, MBI's
program involves mentoring, internship, and honors
work for the college's top sophomore business students.
Graduates of MBI have gone on to the Smith School
of Business at the University of Maryland and to
other top business programs.

The
Macklin Business Institute at Montgomery College
has a distinguished board of advisors, made up of
corporate leaders and business educators.
Gordon
S. Macklin, Chairman, is the former president
of the National Association of Securities Dealers,
which owned The NASDAQ Stock Market. Mr. Macklin
also serves on the board of a number of the nation's
public companies.

is currently the Director of the Gordon
and Marilyn Macklin Business Institute's Center
for Entrepreneurship (CFE) at Montgomery College.
A new Center to provide business development
services to the business community, the workforce
and county economic development efforts. The
Center develops coursework, counseling, conferences,
and symposia in such areas of interest as:
small business planning and creation, venture
capital. and state-of-the-art resource support
for growing companies including executive
level training & support for CEOs and their
teams. CFE also reviews business plans for
local technology businesses. Recent initiatives
for CFE have focused on Biotechnology, Information
