Note: The numbers of several mathematics courses have been changed to make it easier to recognize course levels and sequences. Students should consult their advisers about these changes, to ensure that the appropriate courses are selected.

Group A

(MA090/090A, 091/091A/091D, 100/100D)

There are several developmental sequences designed to prepare students for college-level mathematics courses. Placement is based on mathematics assessment test score or previous college mathematics course work. Students with strong mathematics backgrounds may not need to take any of these courses.

Group B

(MA 110 or MA 113 or MA 116 or MA152 or MA 160)

These courses may be specified in a particular curriculum and will meet the General Education mathematics foundation requirement for curricula with no mathematics course specified. The prerequisite for any of these courses is MA100.

Group C

(MA 130 and/or MA 131)

These courses are primarily for students in the teacher education (elementary education) program. The prerequisite for these courses is MA 100.

Group D

(MA 180 ® MA 181® MA 182 MA 180 and/or MA 282 and/or MA 284)

This sequence is appropriate for students majoring in mathematics, one of the physical sciences, computer science, or engineering who need a knowledge of mathematics that goes beyond introductory calculus. The prerequisites for MA 180 are MA 100 and MA 102.
