About Math and Science Tutoring

Short-term tutoring is available on a walk-in basis according to the schedule below for currently enrolled students taking math, biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and geosciences courses at Montgomery College. There are seven tutoring stations in the Center. Each station has a sign above it which indicates the subject you can be tutored in at that desk. Each tutoring station has a sign-in sheet so that you may be taken in turn. You will also be asked to fill out a data collection form. Tutors assisting in the Math/Science Center are members of the faculty, Math/Science Center staff, or outstanding students who have been recommended by their professors. Weekly Help Sessions (schedule is below) are available for some classes. Students should be sure to take advantage of the additional help offered by faculty through these Help Sessions. There is no need to register and all sessions are free. The Math/Science Center also maintains a list of private tutors who can be hired for more extensive private tutoring needs.

Final Exam week is Monday - Thursday, May 13 - 16!! Tutoring Schedules change during the last week of classes and the week of finals so please check the posted schedules for current information. Please keep in mind that the posted tutoring schedules are not able to reflect daily tutoring absences; schedules may change without notice. Sunday, May 12th, is SUPER SUNDAY REVIEW DAY! The Math/Science Center is open from 12:00 - 5:00. Review sessions for various courses will be held throughout the afternoon. Click here for the schedule!

How to maximize your time with a tutor:

• Bring your notes and text book.
• Try to attempt solving the problem to show the tutor your progress and where you have questions.

Take Home Tests and Quizzes:

• Tutors cannot directly assist with take home tests or quizzed unless it is clearly specified on the test or quiz that help from a tutor is allowed
