Network and Wireless Technologies Curriculum
The Network and Wireless Technologies Discipline is part of the
Computer Applications/Computer Science/Network and Wireless
Technologies (CA/CS/NW) Department. It contains the fields of
Wireless, Cisco, Microsoft and Microcomputer Technology. There are
three tracks that can be followed to obtain a Network and Wireless
Technologies A.A.S. Degree. They are the Wireless Technologies
Track, the Microsoft Track and the Cisco Track The Wireless Technologies Curriculum consists of Wireless
Communications, Electronics, Wireless System Design and Wireless
Security along with the use of test equipment for Wireless Systems.
The Microsoft Curriculum is designed to prepare students for the
Certified Novell Administrator (CNE) Exam as well as for a Windows
Network Administration Career. The Cisco Curriculum is designed to
prepare students for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
exams as well as for a Network Engineer Career.
Students who so desire can obtain a Microcomputer Technician
Certificate, a Network Administration Certificate in either
Microsoft or Cisco, or a Wireless Technologies Certificate. The
actual courses taken each semester will be chosen by the student in
consultation with a Network and Wireless Technologies faculty
advisor. |
