Using the constructivist approach our goals are:

*To facilitate the understanding and comprehension of scientific principles in biology students, especially economically and educationally disadvantaged students

*To promote active participation and generate enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward science courses

*To in crease retention in core courses and understanding of fundamental scientific concepts
