Introduction:  Advanced Standing for LPNs, Medics, and Foreign Nurses

LPNs or those with comparable experience such as military medics or nurses from foreign countries with LPN credentials who wish to enter the nursing program should follow the LPN to RN Checklist.

Military Medics who do not have an LPN license should additionally follow the Military Medics portion of the LPN to RN Checklist to ascertain if they qualify to apply and for additional requirements.

Foreign RNs and LPNs will be evaluated case by case based on documented training and experience.  Nurses will be required to submit a copy of their report from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools.  The Excelsior College 8 credit exam in Fundamentals of Nursing #403 (www.Excelsior.edu)  with a grade of “C” or better on the first attempt will be required. 

Once accepted into the Nursing Program and after completion of NU 121, students will be awarded 8 transfer credits for NU 110.
