Presented by Juan Mendoza, BSc, Psychology, Pre Clinical Mental Health, AAS
Mr. Mendoza is a certified Instructor of the Arthritis Foundation (AF) Fibromyalgia Self-Help Course (FSHC) and taught this course for nearly six years at a local hospital. He is a former Clinical Research Technician for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center. He served on the NIH Hispanic Employee Organization Executive Board of Directors, and is a former board member and Director of Allied Health Services of the National Fibromyalgia Partnership, Inc. (NFP). He is a core community partner of the Health Partnership Program (HPP) in NIH’s National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS).

Presented by Georganne “Geo” Derick, MSc
Ms. Derick is a Medical Herbalist with a Master’s of Science Degree in Herbal Medicine. She earned her unique degree in 2005 from Tai Sophia Institute, a Graduate School for the Healing Arts, located in Laurel, MD. She has been trained to interface with modern medicine, to offer advice and guidance on drug-herb interactions, to advise on herbal, nutritional and lifestyle choices, and to empower clients to engage in their healing process.
As seasoned speaker, educator and writer, she enjoys engaging people in the larger conversation of health as it relates to culture, socio-economics, politics and the environment. Her enthusiasm, respect and reverence for the natural world is described as “engaging and contagious!”
