Nursing Information Sessions

For those interested in the Nursing Program at Montgomery College, the information sessions cover essential material that prospective students need to know regarding the Nursing Program. They are held on the first Monday of each month (NOT in January or July) in the Health Sciences Building promptly at 5:00 pm and last approximately 1 hour.

ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN THE NURSING PROGRAM ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND ONE OF THESE INFORMATION SESSIONS.

Admissions Information
Go to: Instructions for using online Application Form and Application form You will need the free Adobe Reader to use the form. Otherwise call the Nursing Office for paper copies of the instructions and Application Form. Also complete the Applicant Checklist. TEAS testing is required beginning with students entering Spring 2009. Go to TEAS INFORMATION.
Admission to Montgomery College is open to all. To be admitted as a matriculating student in the nursing program, you must
  • make an appointment to see a counselor
  • be a high school graduate, hold a high school equivalence certificate, or be able to present special qualifications.
  • score on the Math Assessment Test sufficient for placement into MA 110 or 116
  • complete the English Assessment tests for appropriate placement and score for placement into EN 101
  • complete any pre-requisites for the first semester clinical nursing courses
  • complete a four credit college level general biology course
  • foreign transcripts must be evaluated by an approved evaluation institution. Contact the Admissions Office for the information packet: 240-567-1501.

If you have not attended Montgomery College before, your first step in the admissions process is to see a counselor in the Admissions Office. Call 240-567-1480.

Nursing is one of the College curricula that has a limit on the number of students who may be admitted. If there are more applicants for nursing than can be admitted, specific selection criteria have been established by the Board of Trustees.  Contact the Admissions Office at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, 240-567-1501, or the Nursing Program for additional information.

Check information regarding the challenge option for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVN), experienced paramedics, EMTs and military corpsmen with appropriate experience.
