Introduction: Advanced Standing LPN to RN

LPN’s or those with comparable experience such as some military medics or nurses from foreign countries with LPN credentials who wish to enter the Nursing Program should first read the department POLICY ON ADMISSION OF LPN'S/MILITARY MEDICS/FOREIGN NURSES to determine eligibility.

Potential students should next review the LPN to RN CHECKLIST for the necessary steps to be considered for the transition program. Students should also review Courses and Curriculum to ascertain whether they have the required pre-requisites and for guidance on which pre-requisites to take. Prospective students are encouraged to attend scheduled Nursing Department Information Sessions.

Potential students who do not have a LPN license per our above POLICY ON ADMISSION OF LPN'S/MILITARY MEDICS/FOREIGN NURSES should review CREDIT BY EXAMINATION – INFORMATION SHEET, for directions.

After reviewing the above information, cited links and determined your readiness for NU 121, contact: Takoma Park/Silver Spring Admissions Office, 240-567-1501 or TP/SS counseling office 240-567-1480
