• Spring 08	Suchit Bhattarai, Christopher Bunai, Muhammed Ornek, Semme Yilma are the recipients of the 2008 Frank L. Verwiebe Award. --read more about this award-- The Frank L. Verwiebe Award was established by department faculty in memory of Professor Verwiebe, the founding chairman of the department.
• Spring 08	Khai Lai is the recipient of the 2008 Clifford K. Beck Award. --read more about this award-- The Clifford K. Beck Award was established by his family in memory of Dr. Beck, a distinguished physicist and member of the Montgomery College Board of Trustees, from 1960-68.
• Spring 08	Chun Kit Chung has been selected by the REU program at the University of Maryland, Institute for Systems Research, to receive a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship for Summer 2008.
• Spring 08	Kyle Gallagher is the recipient of the 2008 Joseph H. Smith Junior Medal and Scholarship (RPI). --read more about this award-- The Joseph H. Smith Junior Medal and Scholarship (RPI) is awarded by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to an outstanding Montgomery College student in the Engineering Program.

Baltimore Medal and Scholarship (RPI) is awarded by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to an outstanding Montgomery College student in science or mathematics.
• Spring 08	Ezequiel Galeano and Michael Kigumi are the recipients of the 2008 Donald K. Day & Karen Gruner Scholarship. --read more about this award-- The Donald K. Day & Karen Gruner Scholarship has been established by Dr. Donald Day and his family for excellence in physics, engineering, and mathematics.

• Spring 07	Ali Faghih is the recipient of the 2007 Clifford K. Beck Award. --read more about this award-- The Clifford K. Beck Award was established by his family in memory of Dr. Beck, a distinguished physicist and member of the Montgomery College Board of Trustees, from 1960-68.
	Ali Faghih has also been selected by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to receive a $4000 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship to work in NIST's Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory(MEL) for Summer 2007. The project will involve the development of the Scanning Probe Electrochemical Interfacial Electrophoresis System (SPECIES).

• Fall 06	Nazli Karimi has been admitted to GWU with a $20K scholarship. She will attend their School of Engineering in Spring 2007.
