Astronomy
The Physical Sciences Department at Takoma Park/Silver Spring
currently offers one astronomy course. The Takoma Park campus
is the only place in the Washington Metro area where students can
take a college astronomy course in a
planetarium.
Course Offered:
AS 101 Introductory Astronomy
This four-credit course covers the solar system, stars, nebulae, and
the galaxies; the origin and evolution of the universe. AS 101 is
designed for students who need a Natural Science Laboratory
Distribution (NSLD) course. (Assessment levels are EN 101/101A and
MA 090. Three hours lecture, two hours laboratory, one hour
discussion each week.)
