The Physical Sciences Department at Takoma Park/Silver Spring offers two Geography courses. An AA degree in Geography is available at the Rockville campus.
Course Offered:
GE 101 Introduction to Geography
This three-credit course introduces geography as a field of study. It provides an extensive examination of the physical and cultural factors that produce the variable character of the earth's surface and provides a discussion of the significance of geographic concepts and factors in world affairs. GE 101 is a Behavioral/Social Science Distribution (BSSD) course. (Assessment levels are EN 101/101A, MA 100, and RE 110. Three hours lecture each week.)
GE 110 Global Geography
This three-credit course provides the general student with a basic overview of global regions, patterns, trends, and geographic relationships that serve as a basis for understanding world affairs. (Assessment levels are EN 101/101A, MA 100, and RE 110. Three hours lecture each week.)
