Montgomery College Takoma Park/Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
Planetarium, Music/Laser Shows
for 2012-2013 academic year
If you are interested in performing contact Dr. Harold
Williams, an astrophysicist and Montgomery College planetarium
coordinator and physics lab coordinator, at 240-567-1463.
Montgomery College's Planetarium hosts an innovative concert series
featuring local area composers and musicians who perform avant-garde,
electronic, new age, folk, dynamic minimalism, medieval, rock in
roll, industrial, and any other type of musical performances with
accompanying lasers and the planetarium sky projector. The
performances are free to the public. All evening planetarium
programs include a star party after the show, if it is clear.
Star party means we look at the sky with telescopes. We have a
13 inch (33.02cm) Dobsonian, a 3
1/2 inch (8.89cm) Questar, and a 4 1/8 inch (10.5cm) Edmund Astroscan
telescopes that we bring outside the planetarium when clear.
Bring your telescope to the star party, and we can have even more
fun sharing, the more the merrier.
