Area Description:
The Fine, Performing, and Visual Arts Area offers instruction and training in the arts in the form of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on participation. Students can gain experience in art, music, advertising art, computer graphics, photography, television and radio, speech, dance, theatre, and American Sign Language. In addition to classes, grants through the Montgomery College Arts Institute allow the area to offer workshops, lecture/demonstrations, master classes, and exhibitions that support and supplement the academic programs. Performances and exhibitions by the academic departments as well as the Professional Artist series and the Children’s series sponsored by the Performing Arts Center provide opportunities for the College and the community at large to enjoy high-level artistic programming. The Performing Arts Center is also available to community organizations that wish to rent facilities for their own performances.
