Patricia Bartlett, Ph.D.
Biography:
Dr. Patricia Bartlett joined Montgomery College as an Instructional Designer in
the College’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) in 2003. She served as CTL’s Interim Director in 2005-2006. Her professional experience includes several
leadership positions at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland: Acting Dean of the
Graduate School; Department Chairperson; Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs; and
Director of the Onica Prall Child Development Laboratory School. Dr. Bartlett
was also a professor of education at Hood College and
an instructor of child development and head teacher in the Kindergarten Lab
School at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Dr. Bartlett earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree from
Virginia Tech and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park. An
expert in early childhood education, child development, and faculty development,
Dr. Bartlett has authored numerous publications on academic innovation and has
presented at major conferences throughout the United States. She is the past
president of the Maryland Association for Teacher Educators and is a former
American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow in Academic Administration. In 1995,
she was named Teacher Educator of the Year by the Maryland Association of
Teacher Educators.
