Biography: After working for 13 years in the video
production industry, Mr. Don Smith joined the faculty of Montgomery College in
1981. He taught video production and media classes in the Visual Communications
Technologies (VCT) Department until 1997. During his faculty years, he served as
the Coordinator of the TV/Radio program and Chair of the VCT Department. His
transition to administration at the College began with his service for one
semester as Acting Dean of the Fine, Performing and Visual Arts on the

Area Description:
The Evening/Weekend Office (EWO) is a special resource on the Rockville campus that has existed for more than 20 years to support the part-time faculty. It was established initially to provide office support and working space for part-time faculty members at those times when academic department offices were traditionally closed, evenings and weekends. It now also provides support throughout the day as well to many part-time faculty members whose academic department facilities are not large enough to provide a full range of part-time faculty support services....
