Robert Brenneman, Ph.D.

Biography:

Dr. Robert Brenneman was appointed Acting Instructional Dean of Science, Engineering and Mathematics for the Rockville Campus on July 1, 2009. Prior to this appointment, he served as a member of the Montgomery College faculty since 2002, first as an adjunct faculty member in Chemistry at the Germantown Campus, and in 2005 joining the full-time faculty in the Chemistry Department at the Rockville Campus. He was appointed as Chair of the Rockville Chemistry Department in May 2006. From 2006 – 2009, Dr. Brenneman served as the Rockville Science Center project shepherd and has been actively involved in issues pertaining to the new Science Center and the renovation of Science East and Science West. He also taught Chemistry at Morgan State University and Frederick Community College.

Dr. Brenneman has over twenty years of experience in product development, project management and planning experience in the solar energy and semiconductor industries. He has extensive experience leading teams of scientists, technicians and support personnel. He authored and presented a number of technical papers related to his industry work.

Dr. Brenneman received his B.S. in Chemistry from Suffolk University, and his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Boston University.
