COLUMBIA ARTISTS PRESENTS
THE PIPES AND DRUMS OF THE BLACK WATCH 3RD BATTALION
THE ROYAL REGIMENTS OF SCOTLAND and THE BAND OF THE SCOTS GUARD
Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 8 p.m.
The Black Watch combines the sounds of Scotland and detailed costumes to create an awe-inspiring event of splendor and majesty. The Pipes and Drums are an elite unit within the Black Watch, which was founded in the early 18th century, and have often accompanied their troops into battle. Music, and pipe music in particular, was an integral part of the lives of the Highland soldiers. The sound of the pipes raised their spirits and put fear into the hearts of the enemy. The Scots Guards were originally formed in 1642 by King Charles I, but the precise origins of the band are unknown. The Scots Guards have performed in numerous concerts around the world, including in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, South Korea, Australia, the United States, and Canada.
Tickets are $40 Regular, $38 Seniors and Students
