Original guitarist, singer, and main songwriter in the Stranglers, Hugh Cornwell is one of the UK’s best songwriters and gifted live performers. In Cornwell’s 17 years with the Stranglers, he had huge success with 10 hit albums and 21 top 40 singles. Among his memorable songs, Golden Brown was featured on the soundtrack to Guy Richie’s blockbuster Snatch, and Peaches was used as the opening sequence of the hit film Sexy Beast and in a Nike TV ad for 2002’s Football World Cup. As a solo artist, Cornwell released eight albums including Wolf (1988), Wired (1993), and Footprints in the Desert (2005). His latest album, Hooverdam, was produced and mixed by Liam Watson, best known for producing the Grammy-winning White Stripe’s Elephant. Mr. Cornwell continues to electrify audiences and proves himself again to be a unique force in British music.
