Scholarships - Society of American Military Engineers Fort Detrick Post

The Society of American Military Engineers Scholarship 

The Fort Detrick Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is proud to announce its annual scholarship competition for 2011. The scholarship provides assistance to deserving students.

This competition is open to all full-time undergraduate students (freshman through junior) pursuing a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, or related science, planning, or construction program at an accredited university or college.  Related science, planning, or construction programs include, but are not limited to, environmental science, chemistry, geology, biotechnology, urban planning, and construction management.

Scholarship applicants must be a:

  • United States citizen

  • Full-time undergraduate student (freshman-junior) at an accredited university or college in the Frederick/Baltimore/Washington, DC area

Applicants must submit:

  • The application form

  • An official transcript

  • A type-written narrative (no more than 750 words) addressing the following

    • Academic / professional goals and how it relates to the mission of the SAME

    • Extracurricular activities

    • Summary of previous military service, if any

    • Other comments to assist the selection process.

 All completed applications and supporting documentation must be mailed to arrive no later than  April 11, 2011 to:
