Marc Erme
Marc Erme is a new member of the Montgomery College Criminal Justice Program Adjunct Instructor’s staff. Having been hired in January 2008, Marc brings several years of law enforcement experience to the program. In 2004, Marc was hired as a police officer with the Montgomery County Department of Police where he is currently assigned to patrol, acts as a Field Training Officer and is an adjunct instructor for the MCPD police academy. During his tenure as a police officer, Marc has been awarded a Montgomery County Department of Police Commendation Medal, Community Service Award and is assigned to a shift who as a group received a Unit Citation for outstanding job performance.
Prior to becoming a Montgomery County Police Officer, Marc served 7 ½ years as a Security Police Specialist/Investigator in the United States Air Force. In 1997, Marc began his Air Force career stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson, Arizona where he belong to the 355th Security Police Squadron and was an active member of the 820th Security Police Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism Response Team. In 2001, Marc re-enlisted in the United States Air Force and was selected to be part of the 89th Security Police Presidential Aircraft Security Section, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. While assigned to this section, Marc held positions as security specialist and Air Force One Complex Security Flight Sergeant. During his military service, Marc completed 7 deployments to the Middle East and received numerous United States Air Force Medals and Citation Awards. In 2004, Marc was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force.
During his time in the United States Air Force and as a police officer, Marc never overlooked the importance of an education. Marc holds a Master’s of Science in Security Management/Homeland Security Degree and a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice Degree from Bellevue University and an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice Degree from The Community College of the Air Force. From 1995-1997, Marc earned several of the credits towards those degrees from Montgomery College.
