What's New

Anthropology is a discipline which provides an introduction to learning about the diversity of human existence. Modern advances in communication and transportation have accelerated the worldwide process of globalization. Anthropology courses enable students to think analytically and critically about what it means to be human as well as to appreciate human diversity. Cultural Anthropology classes focus on human behavior in all it variations, analyzing andcomparing cultural systems, in order to better understand the differences and similarities among human groups. Physical Anthropology and Archaeology focuses on the biological part of human behavior looking at human evolution and current human variation as well as adding a time dimension by studying past civilization and their cultures. Additional courses in World Ethnology and archaeological field research projects are offered each semester.
