Dr. Mary Gallagher
Anthropology Program Coordinator Professor of Anthropology

Dr. Gallagher, Professor of Anthropology, combines her scholarly research with a strong commitment to teaching. She completed her undergraduate work at Rice University and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. Professor Gallagher has visited the People's Republic of China several times between 1977 and the present. In 1985 she lived and taught at Tsinghua University in Beijing for one year. She has developed travel study courses to China as well as a popular 10-day Archaeology and Cultural Field School in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. She has been an active supporter of the College's Honors program and managed a grant for the Maryland Historic Trust for Archaeology in Montgomery County. She joined the Montgomery College faculty in 1973.
