Ms. Cynthia Pfanstiehl received her M.A. in Anthropology from George Washington University in 1985. The focus of her graduate work was the Anthropology of Development which culminated in an internship with a cultural anthropologist at the U.S. Agency for International Development. From 1988 to 2005, Ms. Pfanstiehl worked as a staff archaeologist for four different companies. Most recently she was a Principal Investigator and Research Historian at Archaeological Testing and Consulting in Silver Spring. She has managed both prehistoric and historic investigations, with her emphasis on sites throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. She has a particular interest in Urban Archaeology and has conducted numerous excavations in downtown Washington D.C. and Alexandria, Virginia. Ms. Pfanstiehl began teaching as adjunct at Montgomery College in 2001. She teaches AN101, AN105, and AN202: Archaeological Investigations. Ms. Pfanstiehl joined Montgomery College full time in August 2008. |
