Dr. Takiko Mori-Saunders
Assistant Professor of Sociology

Dr. Mori-Saunders joined the department in August, 2005. She received a BA degree in English from Kobe City University of Foreign Studies in Japan, a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from University of Southern California, a MA degree in Applied Sociology from University of Maryland Baltimore County, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Rutgers University. Dr. Mori-Saunders has taught at Rutgers University, the State University of New York at Binghamton, and Broome Community College in New York. She was a professional journalist before starting her teaching career. She enjoys using students' individual stories as a starting point to help students develop sociological imagination and critical thinking skills. Her teaching and intellectual interests are the area where gender, aging, and medicine intersect.
