“If we take people as we find them,
we may make them worse,
But if we treat them as though they are
what they should be,
we help them to become
what they are capable of becoming.”

Leadership Programs

Leadership is the key to personal and organizational growth, change, and innovation. Great leaders utilize their natural talents and take the time to develop the skills they need to effectively manage tasks and teams. Leadership is developed daily through jobs, volunteering; academic and co-curricular opportunities; interactions with others, and life experiences. Developing leadership expertise is necessary for success throughout one’s academic and professional career.

Many aspects of leadership can be learned and practiced by every person, regardless of their position. Other aspects of leadership are uniquely required at specific levels. There are Leadership Development programs and opportunities you can get involved with through the Office of Student Life that will help you consider which competencies would provide the most value for you at your current career stage, as well as in the future.
