Another exciting opportunity with your co-curricular education is participating in a student organization. There are two student-run organizations you can get involved with through the Office of Student Life on the Rockville Campus.

Senate

What is the Student Senate?
The Student Senate is the student government organization on the Rockville Campus that represents the student body on many levels from organizing student events to voicing student concerns and issues to the college’s administration.

What are the Student Senate's responsibilities?
The Student Senate’s primary responsibilities include listening to all student issues and concerns, addressing them to the college’s administration, and above all enhancing you student life experience while attending Montgomery College!

Why do I need to participate?
You have the opportunity to shape your student government representation! As a student, it is your responsibility to make sure your suggestions, comments, concerns, and feedback are heard and clearly communicated. The Student Senate offers you the opportunity to do so; your participation will make a difference towards making your voice heard.

What is the Montgomery Advocate Student Newspaper?
The Montgomery Advocate Student Newspaper is a community-focused student-run campus publication. It is exclusively staffed by MC students and offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience in:

  • publication editing, writing, and research
  • technology, graphic design, layout, and photography
  • supervision and budget management
  • advertisement
  • collaborating with others

Are you interested in contributing to the campus community, gaining media experience, improving your writing, developing effective networking skills, meeting new people, and enhancing your MC co-curricular education experience? Then get involved with the Advocate today!
